Open Girls Touch Put In Admirable Effort Against Westfield Sports

Open Girls Touch

The MRHS open girls touch team fought valiantly against seasoned veterans Westfield Sports High this morning, holding their own but unfortunately falling 2-5 against the challengers.

The match kicked off 10am under a thick shroud of fog. Our girls suffered from some early anxieties against the Sydney team, but once they found their feet in the second half of the game, they dominated possession of the ball.

The two try scorers were Jess Carusi and Havana Cook, but team coach Brad Clark commended all of the players on the team. “Everyone played extremely well,” exclaimed Mr Clark, “They all worked together as a team once their nerves had worked themselves out and they really shone. They should be very proud of themselves for what they did today.”

This will be the final game of the season for the MRHS open girls touch team. The relatively young team will, for the most part, return next season though. Well done, girls!
