The school day

The school day will begin at 8.55am and end at 3.25pm. The average school day is divided into 5 lessons. Sometimes, for Year 11 and 12 students, additional periods will be scheduled before and after school times.

Roll Call

Students are required to attend roll call at 8.55am every morning. During this time, roll call teachers read the morning announcements and mark students as present for the day.

Students who miss roll call are required to sign in at the school office once they arrive on site. Failure to do so will result in the student being marked as absent.

Recess

Students will be allowed a 25 minute break each morning. It is an opportunity for students to use the bathroom, have a light snack and a drink. Students are expected to remain on school grounds during this time.

Lunch

Students are given a 50 minute break each day for lunch. The break is split into two 25 minute halves. During this time, students are able to play, participate in extra curricular activities and read in the library. They may also be required to complete detention. All students are expected to remain on site during lunch.

Assemblies/Year Group Meetings

Every week the school will either have a scheduled assembly or year group meeting. This is a way for students to keep up to date with what’s happening at school and to be recognised for their achievements.
