October is Mental Health Month in Australia and the NSW Department of Education is encouraging everyone to tune in and make time each day to focus on their mental health and wellbeing. The statewide theme of Mental Health Month is Tune In “to what is happening within you, and in the world around you." Connection Calendars Connection Calendars have daily suggestions to help connect everyone to positive mental health and wellbeing strategies. There are dedicated calendars for: young people children families staff (staff access only) As Mental Health Month starts mid-way through the term break, the calendar has been expanded to start early and cover the whole school holidays through to the end of October.

Drawing with Anthony Cahill

This intensive three-hour workshop is available to youth between the ages of 15-17 years. Anthony Cahill is a Drawing Lecturer currently teaching at the National Art School in Sydney and was a finalist in the Dobell Drawing Prize #22, which is currently on display at the Griffith Regional Art Gallery until Sunday 23 October. Anthony will provide participants with insight into basic mark-making through the practice of drawing. Participants will also gain a better understanding of drawing principles, observation of a subject and mark-making techniques such as outlining and shading. All materials for this workshop will be supplied. We ask that participants only register for one of the two time sessions available.
