On Friday, all 25 Year 12 students studying Community and Family Studies (CAFS) came together for a side-by-side lesson.

CAFS helps students better understand the diverse nature and needs of families and communities in Australian society. It focuses on wellbeing and supporting the needs of individuals, groups, families and communities in Australian society.

Under the supervision of CAFS teachers Cailyn Loveday and Mary Casey, the class revised and brushed up on some hints and tips for the upcoming trial HSC. They then went head-to-head in a syllabus-based quiz.

“An activity like this enhances the class's relationship as a cohort,” explains CAFS teacher Mary Casey, “We’re all on this crazy ride toward the HSC together, so it’s nice for the group to get to know their classmates.”

When asked for tips on how to succeed in the HSC, Mrs Casey advised students to “keep practicing your writing and use work samples to guide you. Practice, practice, practice.”

The Year 12s will start their HSC trails this term in week 5.
