ACT Brumbies Visit MRHS

ACT Brumbies

In the lead up to their game against the Black Falcons and the Waratahs tomorrow, a number of players from the Brumbies came to talk to MRHS students about rugby union, run through some drills and play a quick game.

The MRHS rugby union aficionados were able to cross examine the players about their journey to the big leagues. Player Grace Kemp’s story of rising from humble beginnings in Young, NSW to playing at an international level for the Wallaroos was particularly impressive to the aspiring union stars in the crowd.

The group then took to the ovals to play a friendly game and offer some helpful tips and tricks to improve their game. The players ran alongside the students on the field in a friendly game of touch and worked through some exercises to help sharpen their skills.

The team are in town as part of the Brumbies Rugby Road Show. The team will run an All Abilities Rugby Clinic tomorrow at 10:30AM tomorrow at Ted Scobie Oval. In the evening, Brumbies Super W will play Black Falcons at 4.30pm followed by Brumbies versus the Waratahs at 6:30PM. Both matches will play at the Exies Oval.
