Spring Fest Citrus Sculpture Competiton

Citrus sculpture Chicken

This Year Griffith’s Spring Fest is running from the 13th to the 27th of October.

You are invited to Design a new Sculpture for the 2019 Real Juice Company Citrus Sculpture Display.

Be as creative as you want.

Think about making a sculpture that is the most photographed and shared on social media. Do your research. Will the sculpture be interactive? Big? What will it represent? But follow a few guidelines:

·         90% of your sculpture design MUST be citrus and your sculpture must be 3D.

·         Branding is NOT ALLOWED on the sculptures. (That means it cannot have the school logo or name in the design)

·         Your structure must be engineered to be stable, withstand climatic elements and safe from trip hazards.

You are to submit a sketch of your sculpture on the entry form and Collier and Miller will put the drawing into a Cad design.

Students from MRHS will help engineers at Collier and Miller actually make the sculpture.

On the 13th of October Student volunteers and their families will be asked to put up and later help take down your sculpture.

All entries must be summited under Ms Ragusa’s door at Griffith Site and to Ms Cox in the library at Wade Site no later than the end of recess Tuesday 30th July. The SRC will assist in the judging as will the Spring Fest Committee.

There are prizes to be won for the best entries including a $100 Kmart voucher, a mobile phone, school supplies and the opportunity for the winner to have their sculpture made for the world to see!

Students volunteering their time to help create and assemble the sculpture will receive community service award.
