Murrumbidgee had a staff member and student rock the stage last month at the Griffith Musos Ball.
Young Musician of the Year Anthony Bethe opened the proceedings with his evocative and ambient flute set. Concert flautist Bethe has gone from strength to strength over the past few years, earning the coveted Jean Dobson award and two consecutive Riverina Conservatorium of Music scholarships.
Anthony also played the Opera House with the State Wind Band last month. The exclusive event, run by the Arts Unit, is for only the most accomplished young musicians and consists of intensive workshops culminating in a performance at the iconic venue.
Also on stage at the Musos Ball was teacher Rosanne Jones. Although we might be a little biased, Mrs Jones absolutely blew the crowd away as the frontwoman for Happy Avenue, dazzling the crowd with renditions of everything from pop to soul classics.
The night was a huge celebration of music in Griffith, and we’re extremely proud to have two members of the Murrumbidgee community on stage.
