Two Schools For Griffith

School Restructure

Dear parents and carers,

Following an extensive consultation process with parents, carers, staff, students and the wider school community, the demerger of Murrumbidgee Regional High School is now underway. The 2 schools, each with its own principal, will open for day 1, Term 1 of the 2024 school year.

No staff will lose their jobs and there will be no forced staff movements. Staff affected by the demerger will receive further information soon.

The department will begin recruiting for the new principal positions. David Crelley will undertake the role of Senior Cross-School Co-ordinator to oversee those areas that require shared resources. I want to acknowledge David's leadership in doing so.

The new schools will be provisionally known as Murrumbidgee Regional High School – Wade and Murrumbidgee Regional High School – Griffith and will each be provided with their own school code and NESA numbers.

For more information, see the frequently asked questions (attached) or the Deputy Premier's signed letter (attached).

Thank you for your patience and support with public education provision in Griffith. I am confident that, as a community, we can embrace these changes and continue to demonstrate our strength and commitment to our students' education.

Kind regards

Dean White
