Murrumbidgee student Jake Fattore had a fantastic run in Sydney with the Riverina Reps team earlier this month.
Coached by MRHS teacher Craig Brooker, Riverina had one of the best championships in the past decade. The three day tournament, played in Sydney, ran from 9 – 11 May.
Riverina had some impressive wins over Western Region (4-1), Murray Darling (11-1) and Northwest (5-nil). The team lost to Sydney North 4-nil and perhaps, most impressively of all, they were only narrowly defeated by the state champions Sydney Southwest (2-1).
“Jake had a really strong tournament,” recounts team coach Craig Brooker, “He played a lot of minutes and did a great job.”
“The team were the most successful I’ve coached in the last ten years,” he adds, “Best win loss ratio and the best goal difference.”
Well done on achieving at such a high level, Jake and Mr Brooker!
