Murrumbidgee Wins Big at CHS Swimming Championship

MRHS at CHS Championship

Last week, we sent 19 of our finest swimmers to compete against the best in the state at the CHS Swimming Championship in Homebush. It was a huge week for swimming at MRHS!

Over the three days, students broke a total of 22 personal best times and made the top 20 in 12 events. Notably, the 12 person relay team placed 5th in the state with an impressive 13.22 minute personal best. This is the highest a MRHS relay team has placed at the CHS Swimming Championship.

Once again, the star of the show was Nicole Taylor.  Nicole placed:

  • 2nd 50m Backstroke (Multi Class)
  • 2nd Individual Medley (Multi Class)
  • 3rd 100m Backstroke (Multi Class)
  • 3rd 50m Freestyle (Multi Class)
  • 1st 50m Breaststroke (Multi Class)
  • 3rd 100m Freestyle (Multi Class)
  • 1st 50m Butterfly (Multi Class)

For Year 12 students Samantha Taylor and Wil Donaldson, the carnival was their 6th and final CHS Championship, marking the end of a long and impressive run swimming for our school.

All in all, it’s been a fantastic year for the MRHS swimming team. Congratulations to all of our participants on these amazing results!
