Murrumbidgee Regional High School Upgrade Update

Project Update

Investing in our schools

The NSW Government is investing $8.6 billion in school infrastructure over the next four years, continuing its program to deliver 160 new and upgraded schools to support communities across NSW. This builds on the more than $9.1 billion invested in projects delivered since 2017, a program of $17.7 billion in public education infrastructure.

The NSW Department of Education is committed to delivering new and upgraded schools for communities across NSW. The delivery of these important projects is essential to the future learning needs of our students and supports growth in the local economy.

Project overview

Murrumbidgee Regional High School is the new high school model for Griffith. As part of this new model, the high school is receiving upgrade works across both Griffith and Wade sites, which will enable students to have access to a wide range of subject options and school facilities.

Stage 1 of the upgrade to Murrumbidgee Regional High School was completed in early 2021.

Progress update

Planning is underway for Stage 2 of an upgrade to Murrumbidgee Regional High School, which will include a multipurpose hall at both the Griffith and Wade sites, as well as minor refurbishments of the school library at the Griffith site.

The business case was approved in April this year, and the design team, which includes architects and engineers, has been appointed and Project Governance has been established including school leadership and community representatives.

A Masterplan has been developed which is the overall vision for the design and location of the new halls

Further updates regarding the Murrumbidgee Regional High School upgrade stage 2 will be released as the project progresses through to the concept phase.
